Der heutige Polanskifunk widmet sich der deutschen Band The Notwist. Eine zweiteilige Werkschau - heute Teil 2 (1998 - 2010).

Begonnen hat The Notwist mit schweren Gitarrenriffs. Von Platte zu Platte nehmen der Verzerrungsgrad der E-Gitarren und der Einsatz von Schlagzeugbreaks ab und neue Elemente kommen hinzu. Ist "12" noch als gitarrenlastig zu bezeichnen, so weist Shrink (1998) vermehrt elektronische und vor allem Jazz-Elemente auf. Bis 2010 entwickelt die Band ihren Sound in Richtung Pop, elektronischer und experimenteller (Film-) Musik mit gelegentlichen Singer-Songwriter-Einflüssen.
