IndieRE #85 by Radio Študent, Ljubljana

Enainštirideseta oddaja iz nove serije IndieRE 2.0. V seriji IndieRE v produkciji in mednarodni izmenjavi radijske vsebine sodelujemo ljubljanski Radio Študent, hrvaški Radio Student, francoska mreža Radio Campus, Radio Corax iz Halleja v Nemčiji, EMA-RTV iz Španije, irski Near FM, madžarski Civil Rádió in avstrijski Radio Helsinki.

Ula and Jan from Radio Študent, Ljubljana, Slovenia, will take you through the sounds of SsmKOSK's glitchcore and flamenco, following by a new compilation from ŠOP Records, an underground Slovenian label that releases experimental, weird, lo-fi, funny, critical and noisy soundscapes. We'll speak with Tit Podobnik, the label's main man about celebrating the label's 10-year anniversary this year and the new released music from 35 various artists titled Slounds From Slovenian Bedrooms V. Next up we'll have Boštjan Franetič, a jazz guitar player who recently formed a new quartet and has released an album called Siciljanka or Lady of Sicily and who'll be joining us in the studio for a brief interview. We'll also listen to a fresh collab, a bridge between generations, between Eva Jakimoska or Moska, a young producer and DJ, and SunnySun, an oldschool and more established producer. They have released an EP called Milka with three mixes of electronic breaks, ghetto house and electro. Continuing with electronic dance sounds, but a bit deeper, we'll listen to darker shades of spacey techno by producer Zergon, who released a new EP called Nusent. Smedja and Smetke will be next, a one-man project by Matic Medja, one of the hottest power violence artists on Ljubljana's music scene at the moment. He recently released a new album Smetobolje.

We'll conclude the broadcast with an in-house release, a various artists compilation Klubski maraton 2023, a collection of works from six upcoming artists and bands that we picked as a part of the Klubski maraton tour of 2023. This is a 23-year ongoing project that highlights new music constellations and names in the Slovenian independent alternative music scene. The artists record the songs in our studios at Radio Študent, our record label Zarš releases the compilation, and we organise a tour through Slovenia's youth centres and clubs where the musicians get an idea how a musician's work looks and can get comfortable with performing on stage more, explore their sound and so on. We also organize a final concert in Ljubljana where all six chosen bands perform together and conclude the marathon so to speak.

IndieRE - Independent Radio Exchange
